Thank you to everyone who participated and made our inaugural year a huge success!! With 715 participants and over $50,000 raised we are continuing Rachel's fight against duodenal cancer!!
Rachel's nurse from NIH, Ashley Buscetta had a message for the runner's yesterday. Unfortunately, it was not shared on the microphone for all to hear...
Cheryl Guss always said when the sun is shining she knows Rachel is here with us. Well apparently Rachel just didn't want to see me embarrass myself today.
My name is Ashley Buscetta and I was the wound care nurse at NIH. I helped to take care of Rachel and her family but most importantly in return they taught me things about life, love and family that I'll never forget.
We all know why we are here. Maybe you are running for Rachel or maybe you had your own Rachel in your life and are running for that person.
For whatever reason you are here we thank you.
Run hard today because no matter how many miles you run, today, tomorrow you know you will never race as hard as Rachel did.
